How
to become a VOp (+)
Users
must meet the following criteria for a minimum of 2 months to be considered
for the VOP (voiced) list:
- Use a registered
nick.
- Log on to chat
regularly.
- Follow all channel
rules and guidelines (basically, be a role-model for other/new users).
- Help Operators
in teaching and reminding the channel rules to users (this includes
encouraging "good behavior" in other chatters).
- Have a basic knowledge
of the mIRC and web-based Java chat clients, and IRC commands (this
entails helping users set up and learn how to use these clients, register
their nicks, etc.). NOTE: Commands do not have to be memorized, but
you at least need to know how to look them up quickly and explain them
to others. All basic commands plus some more advanced ones are explained
on the Help page.
Overall, VOps are
teachers and helpers. Meeting the above criteria does not guarantee VOp
status but does highly increase your chances.
Naturally, failure
to demonstrate all of these qualities could result in removal from the
VOp list.
